Hands On Alphabet

Hands On Alphabet is a complete resource for teaching and reinforcing many important readiness skills: phonics, letter recognition and alphabet sequencing.  All the components of this resource can be used in dozens of ways.  Included are objectives and lesson guides for the alphabet line and cards and for the alphabet objects.  These two sets of materials can also be used together, and we have outlined a few ways you might integrate these two parts.

Hands On Alphabet includes 3 sets of objects for each letter of the alphabet and three storage tubs and lids.  In each tub you can place all the objects for one complete a-z object set.  The small sorting cups should be labeled with alphabet stickers, using both upper- and lowercase sticker, or just a lowercase sticker, at first.  These small cups are intended for use as sorting cups in which the children will place the appropriate objects. After they have sorted different items, they then need to replace objects carefully in the storage containers for the next child to use.  Complete directions for these activities are included in the lesson guide.

• 78 alphabet objects (3 objects for each letter)
• 26 alphabet objects sorting cups (1 for each letter)
• 3 storage containers and lids (1 for each letter)
• Laminated labels for each object
