The power to teach language skills for the general curriculum is contained within these two dynamic resources.
  • Teach students to organize and internalize grade-level vocabulary.
  • Stimulate higher-level text comprehension with Blooms taxonomy questions.
  • Present lessons that each contains 20 concepts in a curriculum-based context: meet grade-level goals for literature, science, and social studies.

The materials are written for older students, but with a reading level of 3rd and 4th grade. Once you've used Concept Power, you'll learn to create similar activities using the student's classroom information.

Concept Power consists of the following components:

 

Volume 1 (Grades 4-6)

  • Professional Manual: This manual contains all instructions and background materials for teaching students in Grades 4 through 6; individual lessons and teaching activities for each grade; and pre- and post-tests for each grade.
  • Student Activity Sheets: These sheets contain all stories with associated illustrations, concept maps, word lists, and student tasks and activities for Grades 4 through 6.

Volume 2 (Grades 7-8)

  • Professional Manual: This manual contains all instructions and background materials for teaching students in Grades 7 through 8; individual lessons and teaching activities for each grade; and pre- and post-tests for each grade.
  • These sheets contain all stories with associated illustrations, concept maps, word lists, and student tasks and activities for Grades 7 through 8.
