The Food Set contains 120 original 2" x 2" full-color pictures of breakfast, lunch and dinner foods including snacks, eating utensils, table accessories and other eating associated items. The pictures are printed on durable card stock and laminated for protection against moisture.
Sample activities for using FOOD SET: 1. Use the FOOD SET picture cards in your communication books at home, school or in the community to request wants and needs. 2. Use the FOOD SET picture cards to make a chore chart. (ex: Put plate in the sink/wipe tabletop) 3. Use the FOOD SET picture cards to make a visual grocery list. Bring the pictures of the desired grocery list with you to the grocery store. Make shopping fun! Play "grocery store" in the classroom. 4.Use the FOOD SET picture cards to play restaurant. Let each student choose several pictures of foods he wants to order. One student is designated as "waiter/waitress", approaches a table of students and asks if they would like to order. The "waiter/waitress" takes the order and then reads it back (says, signs or points to the pictures) to check if the order was taken correctly. Students can take turns being the "waiter/waitress." 5. Use the FOOD SET picture cards to increase literacy and vocabulary. When using the cards, point to the words on top. Later, turn the cards over to the word-only side and ask the student to find the words you have worked on.
