Social Skills and Character Education Lessons
By Tammy Koenig & Bev Meyer
Grades 1-4
The Caring Kids lessons use a variety of instructional methods to
promote
social-emotional skill development. Through these lessons, children discover
that social expectations exist. Children will enjoy the activities, stories,
role-plays, discussions, and situations that provide the skills for solving
everyday problems they face both in and outside of school. Caring Kids
includes a home component as well.
Caring Kids Goals:
- Developing social-emotional
behaviors
- Using body language that
impacts communication
- Listening behaviors
- Following directions
- Identifying feelings
- Cooperating
- Promoting use of social
skills in real situations
